Collin College Guitar Festival, February 6-7, 2025 -- Plano, Texas -- FREE. Featuring: Dr. Olga Amelkina-Vera, Dr. Fernand Vera
Texas Guitar Competition and Festival -- UT Dallas -- March 6-8, 2025.
Southwest Guitar Symposium -- UT San Antonio -- March 14-16, 2025.
The Brownsville Guitar Ensemble Festival -- March 28-30, 2025. With a competition component (up to 3 ensembles per school). Brownsville, TX.
Hill Country Guitar Ensemble Festival -- Texas State University in San Marcos -- March 28, 29, 2025. (Competition event for duos, trios, quartets or large ensembles).
Edinburg Guitar Ensemble Festival -- UTRGV Edinburg, TX, April 5, 2025
Mountainview Guitar Festival -- Dallas College. May 2, 3, 2025
The Houston Classical Guitar Festival -- June 9-14, 2025.
The Summer Guitar Conservatory, in Houston, June 16-26, 2025 -- 8-days, free for students, all levels. There is an Advanced Ensemble that students can audition for. In addition, the SGC has a teacher-training program (with up to 14 hours of TGDA CPE credits) and an adult guitar student program, for adults that want to practice their ensemble and solo chops.
Austin Classical Guitar/GuitarCurriculum Teacher Summit - July 18-20 (Baker Center, Austin) -- 3-day intensive workshop designed to prepare teachers who are new to the guitar classroom and to improve the playing and instruction of experienced guitar teachers. Expert faculty also assist music teachers in developing their guitar-playing skills.
