The Texas Guitar Directors Association is professional organization dedicated to the service of music education, especially to guitar teachers and their students. The association was formed by committed music educators who wished to elevate the opportunities for students and teachers in the guitar classroom by creating a network of successful music directors.

TGDA is a network of caring music educators promoting achievement in classroom guitar education through high standards, advocacy, resources, and a balance between rigor, inclusiveness, and diversity.
